What's Really Inside Your Chicken Nuggets

We at ManMade are huge advocates of handmade products, and always promote the freedoms of avoiding consumerism and mass-produced goods.

Seeing this photo is exactly what we needed to keep the faith: this is mechanically separated chicken, and it's what's inside fast food products like chicken nuggets and patties, as well the frozen processed chicken products in the freezer section of the grocery store.

Click through to read what's actually going on here...

"Basically, the entire chicken is smashed and pressed through a sieve—bones, eyes, guts, and all. it comes out looking like this.

There’s more: because it’s crawling with bacteria, it will be washed with ammonia, soaked in it, actually. Then, because it tastes gross, it will be reflavored artificially. Then, because it is weirdly pink, it will be dyed with artificial color."

Hmm. Just, hmm. Decide what you will.

Honestly, I'm glad I've never found nuggets delicious. I'll go warn my brother now.

Unfortunately chicken isn't the only food processed like this! I just finished watching a documentary with the guy from Fast Food Nation. I think it was called Food, Inc.  I can't promise I will never eat bacon again, but it sure makes you realize how far we are removed from where are food comes from.

Oh god. That's possible the most disgusting thing I've ever seen. At first I thought it was soft-serve, and I was thinking 'yummm'. Gross.
