This Holiday Season, Me and Guinness are Gonna be Generous

To celebrate the holidays, Guinness is asking its fans to be generous this season. Alongside their special edition Generous Ale, the brewery is inviting everyone to “help make this season the most generous yet by giving the most valuable gift of all – your time.”

Guinness invited me to participate, in addition to  up to a hundred other bloggers and influencers to say thanks, donated $100 to charity for each of us. Seemed like a no brainer to me, so I wanted to pledge something out of my own strengths:

Here’s what Guinness has to say:

  • Alongside the release of its new holiday beer, Generous Ale, Guinness has launched an initiative to help inspire generosity this season through a program called Generous Hour.
  • Generous Hour uncovers and encourages the many ways of spreading generosity by inviting you to share how you’ll give with your time this holiday season – whether driving someone to the airport, wrapping gifts or volunteering for a cause, or something else.
  • I’ve pledged to give 10 hours in December. Go here and click pledge in the bottom left corner to do the same. Or, if you have a different idea visit GuinnessGivesBack.com. From there you can submit your own or browse pledges to choose from any of the other existing entries.

My $100 will be going to Feeding America, the nation’s leading domestic hunger relief charity.

It was my pleasure to participate, and I think you should do the same. Check it out: Guinness Gives Back

(Disclosure: In return for pledging, Guinness has made a charitable donation on my behalf to help provide holiday meals to those in need.)
