Ever wonder why your jeans have that little fifth pocket on the right side?
Turns out, the fifth pocket was introduced around the turn of the 20th century, and its original purpose was: to hold a pocket watch. Truth. Even today, most jeans that are manufactured to traditional measurements will still be able to house a size 16 pocket watch, and the belt loops are still spaced to be able to accommodate the watch’s ring-clip chain.
Cool, huh? Got a pocket watch? Give it a shot.
