Crafting a DIY Surfboard from Reclaimed Wood

created at: 10/04/2012

Schwood, makers of wood sunglasses and other especially cool bits, created a one-of-a-kind surfboard using reclaimed wood found of the beaches of the Oregon coast.   They say, “Shwood founder Eric Singer teamed up with some friends to create a unique wooden surfboard. Singer and company processed and shaped a functional, one-of-a-kind board using only reclaimed wood found on the Oregon coast. The construction process was guided by the expertise of Joe Blecha (blechaboardshop.com), a bona fide virtuoso of custom surf and snowboard construction. Kahana Kalama, professional surfer turned shop-owner (alohasunday.com), was there to test the limits of the handmade board upon its completion.”
