These Hilarious Photos Couldn’t Have Been Timed Better
When we take a photo, we're generally trying to capture a vibe and preserve a memory - things like loved ones at a family event, vacation hijinks, or a visit to a tourist attraction.
That said, photos also capture a precise split-second in time - and when that shutter clicks at the exact right moment, the results can be magic.
"I always follow the rules."
If a sign tells us to do something, we're generally expected to obey - even if the rationale might not make much sense.
With this in mind, one person has decided to take this sign very literally.
"My daughter asked her dad to be launched into my photo where she struck this pose."
Humans can't fly, but thanks to the magic of photography (and some good timing), we can create images like this.
No, he isn't a superhero and he can't fly - but his daughter might think otherwise after seeing this.
"TO THE INVISIBLE BOAT MOBILE!!"
Anyone who's watched the original Adam West Batman TV series knows just how campy and ridiculous it could get.
These guys are just making a funny photo, but they're emulating something that could have very well been a serious plot point from that series.
"Bored at the office? Got an idea for you!"
The Pied Piper of Hamelin is a well-known story that gets darker and darker the more you really think of it.
Because we don't want to bum ourselves out, let's not think of the deeper context and instead appreciate this fun office photo.
"Theft of Tower of Pisa"
Can a world-famous monument be stolen? Generally, this is only possible with smaller stuff like jewels and paintings.
These guys seem to have come up with a scheme to steal the iconic Leaning Tower of Pisa - in broad daylight, no less.
"Blown away"
Brass instruments can project a lot of sound, but have band members ever wished they could do more than just make music?
Thanks to these three, we have an idea of what a weaponized tuba might look like.

We've seen all manner of Pisa pics, but this one does something that's actually fairly unique.
The original poster didn't share how many times he had to take and re-take this photo, but it was probably more than a few.

One of the fun things about working in the filmmaking industry is seeing all of the props that are used in movies and TV shows.
Heck, sometimes you even get to utilize these props to take a photo that should be an album cover.

There's a good chance you'd take a pic - but it probably wouldn't look quite like this.
"Pisa-ception"
When someone is using forced perspective to make it look like they're bigger than the tower, what do you do?
The answer is simple: use that same forced perspective to make it look like you're bigger than the person who's making it look like they're bigger than the tower.
"We found a huge stuffed dog under the pool table at a bar. Told my friend to pose. He went with the Never Ending Story pose."
Every child of the '80s who's still disappointed that the so-called Neverending Story actually had an end can take solace in this photo.
While the story ended and this dog is stuffed, the spirit of Falkor lives on.
"Engagement"
People who opt for an old-school proposal generally want to have a ring to give to their beloved.
This is, technically, a ring of sorts. It has no karats (or carrots), and it'll likely cause a few tears.
"Pet the horsey"
This pair of giant steel horse heads is known as The Kelpies, and makes for a stunning roadside attraction in Scotland.
Of course, while we're told that these things are gigantic, this guy is making them look a little more human-sized.

Do you have a dedicated Christmas pose? What? You don't?!
Better get on it, because these two are light years ahead of us when it comes to developing weird new poses to try out during the holidays.
"Told my husband to pose as if he's a model. I'd say he nailed it."
How does a model pose? There are about a million different answers, many of them depending on the type of publication and who the model is.
To answer the question of "how does a model not pose?", well, just look at this picture.
"A friend Hadouken-ed me really hard...."
Anyone can make up a silly Hadouken-themed freeze-frame photo, but it takes some skill to pull it off really well.
What truly makes this photo, even though it may be unintentional, is the broken chair. It really makes it look like the attack had some oomph.
"Friend told me we're going to do a group picture with the Tiki and everyone is going to do a silly pose."
One of life's simple joys is telling one friend (but only one) in a group photo that everyone's going to do a silly pose - and then just to not do a silly pose.
Your friend might be a bit ticked off in the moment, but it makes for a photo that's more memorable in the end.

Back in the days before teens and tweens were social media-savvy and used to being on camera, there were Nickelodeon kids' shows - and things frequently got awkward.
As the original poster points out, it's the poses and facial expressions that really help to sell these costumes.

Why did someone make a sculpture of a cauldron as it falls down some steps?
It's hard to say - art is just like that sometimes - but it did make for a fantastic posed photo.

The simple answer: you can't avoid this, really, so you might as well just roll with it.

It's more likely that this is yet another forced perspective snapshot from the Leaning Tower of Pisa - but we can't be absolutely certain.
"GIVE ME BACK MY DAUGHTER!"
It was designed as a statue of a parent swinging their child around in a carefree manner, but this certainly re-contextualizes things.
Is is a precious moment between parent and child, or is it a bitter custody battle?
"Got your nose!"
When a soldier shot off the Sphinx's nose back in the day, they probably weren't thinking that their actions would someday lead to comedy gold.
Then again, maybe they were thinking along those lines - but even if they were, "got your nose" probably wasn't a thing back then.
"Took this one over the summer"
This photo needs a little bit of context, and here it is: this guy is standing at the base of the Leaning Tower of Pisa, and is poking fun at the many photos that are taken there.
He's using forced perspective, in a way - but because of the angle and the scale, it just doesn't have the same effect.
"When you come to Pisa, don't forget to take a proper photo"
Here's another fun way to snap a photo at (and maybe get ejected from) the Leaning Tower of Pisa.
Of course, she isn't really a giant and he isn't really touching her butt - but the angles all line up either way.

Imagine going to Tunisia to check out a Star Wars set and being so jazzed about being on Tatooine that you don't even notice what's going on in your photos.
Now, years later, the photographer can appreciate that they inadvertently captured a pretty nasty bail on camera.

Horses are lovely animals, creatures that'll show affection to their humans in various ways.
Sometimes, this includes a big sloppy lick from their big floppy horse tongues. It's a bit gross, but they do mean well.

Seagulls are absolute monsters when it comes to brazenly stealing food, and here's proof positive.
Usually you can at least see a gull coming, but this one came in over the top for a sneak attack.

Here's a bit of friendly advice: just because you can lift someone up doesn't mean that you should lift them.
After all, the emphatic initial hoist sometimes has a little too much momentum in it, and bad things can result from this.
