I’m a total sucker for vintage-inspired, “alternative” movie posters that are created by honest-to-goodness designers that are fans of the films, not to sell tickets. When I look at these, I start to have a little more understanding for why sci-fi and fantasy fans do things like create elaborate costumes and fan fiction. It’s a way to giving one’s skills to participate in something that’s meaningful.
We’ve featured some of these in the past, but I love this series by Singapore-based artist Joseph Chiang. I’ve been having fun all morning looking at the thumbnail collage image above and seeing if I can guess which film is which.
