The Process: Crafting Handmade Wooden Eyeglass Frames from Scratch

Indianapolis-based artist and maker Peter Boerger hand crafts these amazing wooden eyeglass frames from scratch using basic hand and woodworking tools – no laser cutters or CNC routers needed.  

Cog Productions recently visited Boerger in his shop, and shot this wonderful process film. It’s amazing to hear Boerger’s approach to his work, and watch each frame being made by hand. I especially love his boil and clamp method of forming the curves of the glasses – much less intimidating than sanding by hand.

As a woodworker who tends to work small rather than on big furniture projects, this stuff is pure eye candy. Check out the video below:
