Blow My Mindsday: June 15, 2011 – Birthday Wishlist Edition

So, this Friday is my birthday. So, for this week’s Blow My Mindsday post, I thought I might share my wishlist of stuff I might actually open as a gift. Not all of it, of course, but maybe one or two?

Me, on my first birthday. I still make that face. Often.

Pulled: A Catalog of Screen Printing by Mike Perry. A collection of contemporary printmaking artists, including Aesthetic Apparatus, Deanne Cheuk, Steven Harrington, Maya Hayuk, Cody Hudson, Jeremyville, Andy Mueller, Rinzen, and Andy Smith, and others and an illustrated how-to section? My birthday heart won’t stop beating.

Suzuki Omnichord. I’ve been looking for an original Suzuki Omnichord OM-27 for more than a decade now, ever since I learned about them in the late 90s. They’ve become hot items on eBay now, what with the circuit bending scene and the toybox/ukulele/precious indie pop music, but I still want one desparately. I have a little Craigslist alert set up, but they’re pretty rare in my town.

Seriously, if you have one of these and are interested in selling to your good friend Chris, please lemme know, Chris [at] Manmadediy [dot] com. I even have a line item in my savings account for it, so I’m ready to go. (Photo: Jenny Omnichord)

Jonathan Adler Utopia “Lion/Tamer” Mug. Lion on one side, mustachioed Shriner tamer on the other.

The White Balance Lens Cap. I haven’t mastered an understanding of color temperature yet, and the light color inside my house always seems to live in-between the “shade” and “shadow” setting.

Steel wok and wok ring. I love Southeastern Asian food, and would like to learn proper wok technique, but Western burners aren’t set up to 1) accomodate a round bottom pan and 2) get hot enough to stir fry properly. They sell commercial grade woks at my local restaurant supply store, as well as matching wok rings, which allow you to use a wok on a flat burner, or to get even hotter, a grill!

tUnE-yArDs w h o k i l l I always have a billion records and books I want at any given moment, but this is the album I want the most in this early summer season.

Seat belt camera strap. I hate the black and yellow guy that came with my camera, but I use it everyday. I know I should probably sew my own, but probably couldn’t source the parts for less than the $20 it costs at Photojojo.

Drop Aerobar handlebars for my bike. Like these, but in white!

And lastly, a walnut iPad case. Oh, and an iPad to go in it. Be a friend, Apple. I’ll give you all the free press as you want. Please? 🙂
